Moving east or south of Nevada means long, open drives with few mountain passes but a lot of miles. This hub sorts the cities by direction of travel and points you to the page with your own numbers.

East on I-80: Utah, and Colorado's northern route

Salt Lake City is about 515 miles from our warehouse, with Ogden about 551 and Provo and Orem about 560, all by way of I-80 across the Great Basin. Utah is a two-way state for Reno: Census counts about 3,400 people moving from Utah to Nevada in 2024 and about 3,600 going the other way.

Colorado also leaves on I-80. Grand Junction is about 796 miles, Denver about 1,036 and Colorado Springs about 1,102. Colorado sends more movers to Nevada than it receives, about 3,900 against about 1,800 in 2024.

South on US-95: Arizona, New Mexico and the desert corridor

The Arizona routes head south through Nevada. Prescott is about 676 miles, Phoenix about 718 and Tucson about 846. Albuquerque is about 1,000 miles, using I-40 and US-95 and US-93 for much of the way.

Phoenix to Reno is among the larger Southwestern flows, and the city page puts Reno beside Phoenix on rent, home value and climate.

Montana: the long way north

Missoula is about 763 miles from the warehouse, reached by way of US-95 and I-80 and across Idaho. It is the only Montana city on the map, and a small flow, about 500 people a year moving to Nevada.

What a long inland move involves

Because these drives are long, weight and the stops on the way matter more than the pass. Your estimator itemizes your belongings, gives you a written estimate, and prepares an inventory and condition report before packing begins.

Leaving Reno, you book with O'Brien's and the Bekins network carries the move. Arriving in Reno, you book with O'Brien's too, and we coordinate the move from your origin through the Bekins network, then deliver, unpack and store in Sparks. Our guide to pickup and delivery spreads shows how a delivery window is set.
