A vault is a fixed, known amount of storage, which makes it easier to size than a loose room of boxes. Your furniture and cartons go into a wooden vault, the vault goes into the 30,000 sq ft warehouse at 2277 Glendale Ave, and it stays there until you ask for it back. The service is full service, so O'Brien's handles the packing, the loading and the delivery too.
What a vault is
A storage vault is a wooden box made for moving and storing household goods. O'Brien's vaults measure 7 ft x 7 ft x 5 ft, and no orientation is assumed, so the number to remember is the 245 cubic feet inside. Vaults are stacked in the warehouse, and the photo gallery shows rows of them with a forklift working the aisle.
Because a vault has a set size, you can count them. A small apartment may fill one or two. A larger home may fill several. The estimator counts for you at the in-home visit, and the storage vault sizer gives a first estimate before anyone visits.

Why 2 to 3 weeks notice
Stored goods are ready to ship with about 2 to 3 weeks notice, which is how far in advance the schedule is booked. The notice gives the warehouse crew time to pull your vaults and the delivery crew time to be on your calendar. Call early when you know your date.
