Sixty days for titles and registrations
Utah's Division of Motor Vehicles says new residents to Utah are allowed 60 days to transfer titles and registrations. Ask the DMV for its current document list before you drive in for the first visit.
Bring the Nevada title, current registration and proof of address, and have your insurance updated to a Utah policy first.
Residency tests for the license
Utah's Driver License Division does not give new residents a fixed number of days. It lists the events that make you a resident who needs a Utah license: you enter the state to make Utah your home, you remain in the state for six months or more during a calendar year, or you obtain a driver license or registration through other Utah means. Any one of these is enough.
In practice, a family moving its household needs a Utah license as soon as the move is a move. The Driver License Division is the place to confirm the date for your own case.
A flat tax in place of none
Nevada collects no state personal income tax. Utah Code 59-10-104, effective January 1, 2026, sets the rate at 4.45 percent of state taxable income, one rate for everyone instead of brackets. The Tax Commission's rate page may still show the earlier 4.5 percent, so rely on the statute for 2026.
The state sales and use tax rate is 4.85 percent, with local and county options added. Nevada's statewide minimum is 6.85 percent.

Talk about organized people. I peeked in the truck about an hour into the job and was amazed at how well organized it was and how many of my things had protective coverings. Our bed is a mechanical one and a nightmare to us, but these guys had no issue with it at all. Although I have no desire to ever move again--but if I did, I would be calling these guys for sure!!!
