Moving from Nevada to New Hampshire

New Hampshire, like Nevada, does not tax wages. That makes it one of the few places a Sparks household can move without a new line on the paycheck. The New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles says a person who establishes domicile or residence in New Hampshire and owns a vehicle used in the state must register it within 60 days, and that a person who establishes domicile and drives in New Hampshire must obtain a New Hampshire driver's license within 60 days. No wage tax and no general sales tax

The New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration says the state does not tax an individual's reported wages. The interest and dividends tax was repealed for taxable periods beginning after December 31, 2024. The state has no general sales tax; its Meals and Rooms Tax is 8.5 percent on restaurant meals, lodging and motor vehicle rentals.

Housing and income in the Census

The Census American Community Survey lists New Hampshire's median household income at 99,031 dollars, its median gross rent at 1,491 dollars a month and its median home value at 402,500 dollars. About 27 percent of households rent. Concord is the capital, and the statewide median age is 43.3.
