We have 50 guides for leaving Nevada, one for each of the 49 other states and the District of Columbia. California is the top destination, about 21,100 Nevada movers in 2024 by Census estimate, ahead of Florida at about 9,300.
This hub starts with where Nevada residents go, then points you to the guide for your destination. Each one covers the move from the Nevada end: who handles what, the paperwork, and the state you are heading to.
Where Nevada residents go
The Census counted about 89,400 people moving from Nevada to another state in 2024. California took the most at about 21,100, then Florida at about 9,300, Texas at about 6,100, Arizona at about 6,000 and Washington at about 4,100. Utah, Idaho and Oregon follow. These are survey estimates and carry margins of error, so use them as rough sizes.

What every guide covers
Who books the move: you book with O'Brien's, and the Bekins network carries it.
How the estimate works: itemized, priced by weight.
What happens in Sparks first: packing, labeling, loading and, if you wish, storage.
What the destination state expects: license and registration deadlines where the state sets them.
Who to call: 775-359-6683, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
How leaving Nevada differs from arriving
When you leave, all the heavy lifting begins in our own yard. An O'Brien's estimator visits your home, our crew packs and loads, and the move travels on the Bekins network. The first miles are ours, and we are the people you talk to.
Nevada residents moving within Nevada are covered separately under moving within Nevada, which runs under our Nevada Transportation Authority CPCN 1070. The guides here are for moves across the state line, which are interstate moves under U.S. DOT No. 30611 and MC-109375.
Alaska, Hawaii and overseas
Alaska and Hawaii have their own guides and move through the Bekins network. Honolulu has no road route, so its page describes the move without drive figures. If you are leaving the country, see international moving, where we work through Bekins and partner international carriers.

3 O'Brien movers came down from Reno to South Lake Tahoe to assist our company moving a lot of big furniture out of a large warehouse. They showed up on-time, were friendly, and were professional and got the job done quickly and diligently. Will definitely use them again.
