Moving from Nevada to Missouri

A 30-day title clock and a license rule with no number

The Missouri Department of Revenue says you have 30 days from the date of becoming a Missouri resident to title your vehicle. For the license, the Department says that as soon as you establish residency in Missouri, you must apply and pay for a Missouri driver license. It publishes no day count for the license, so none appears here.

Missouri's tax rates

Missouri's individual income tax has graduated brackets topping at 4.7 percent for 2026, according to the Department of Revenue's rate history. Further cuts to 4.6 and 4.5 percent come only if revenue triggers under a 2022 law are met. The state sales tax is 4.225 percent, and local sales taxes add to it.

Nevada has no state personal income tax, so Missouri withholding is new, though its top rate is below those of several states in this series. Ask a tax professional about a part-year return.

The Census American Community Survey lists Missouri's median household income at 70,702 dollars, its median gross rent at 1,033 dollars a month and its median home value at 230,300 dollars.
