The Oklahoma Tax Commission's rule says that when the owner of a vehicle becomes employed in the state, the vehicle is subject to tax there and must be registered within 30 days from the date of employment. The rule is tied to employment rather than the move date. For licenses, the state says that if you moved from another state you will need to transfer your license and register your vehicles, with no day count stated. These rules matter to people arriving in Oklahoma; when you leave, keep your Oklahoma license valid until Nevada issues one.
House Bill 2764 lowers Oklahoma's top personal income tax rate from 4.75 percent to 4.5 percent beginning with tax year 2026.
