Packing services in Tahoe City

The Census place of Sunnyside-Tahoe City has about 1,600 residents and 670 households on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, at about 7,000 feet. About 84 percent of homes are single-family detached, 70 percent are owner-occupied and the median home value in the Census count is about $1 million.

Where bedrooms add up

Of roughly 2,350 homes, about 760 have four or more bedrooms and about 910 have three. In a four-bedroom lake house, the bedrooms are often the largest packing job, because each has a closet, a dresser, bedding and sometimes a seasonal wardrobe. The crew packs closets into wardrobe cartons and bags the mattresses.

Older construction

Getting there

Tahoe City is about 52 miles and 71 minutes from Sparks, via I-80 and CA-89. The road can be slow in winter, and the National Weather Service forecast office in Reno posts mountain conditions. The estimator's visit is scheduled ahead.
