A one-bedroom with an elevator can be harder to move than a house with a driveway. Buildings set move-in hours, reserve elevators and ask where trucks may park. The best apartment moves start with a conversation about the building, not just about the furniture.

Ask the property manager or HOA four questions: when the elevator can be reserved, where a truck can park, whether a loading dock exists and what protection the building requires in hallways. Pass the answers to the estimator so the written plan matches. A complex with a narrow lot may need a smaller truck or a shuttle plan.
Long carries and stairs take time and care. The estimator counts flights, measures doorways and notes tight turns for large pieces like sofas, mattresses and wardrobes. The crew pads walls and corners, wraps furniture and keeps hallways clear. Our apartment moving checklist covers the details a renter should handle before move day.
Smaller homes still take planning. Keep a path clear from the door to the truck, take pictures off the walls ahead of time, and set aside anything you plan to carry yourself, such as medication, documents and valuables. If you share a unit with roommates, agree on who owns which furniture so the crew knows what to load. Parking matters in dense neighborhoods, so ask your building where the truck may stop and for how long. A reserved space or a posted notice to neighbors saves time on the day.
Leases end on the last day of the month while the next place opens on the fifth. Vault storage in the Sparks warehouse bridges the gap, with about 2 to 3 weeks notice to ship stored goods. Read storage between moves.

First apartments often mean less furniture, which can be handled by a small crew in a short job. See moving into your first apartment for planning tips, and use the Load Planner to estimate truck size.
Update your address with the post office and utilities before the move. The USPS Mover's Guide handles mail forwarding and notifications. Call O'Brien's at 775-359-6683 on a weekday between 8 am and 5 pm to schedule your estimate.

Talk about organized people. I peeked in the truck about an hour into the job and was amazed at how well organized it was and how many of my things had protective coverings. Our bed is a mechanical one and a nightmare to us, but these guys had no issue with it at all. Although I have no desire to ever move again--but if I did, I would be calling these guys for sure!!!
